Personal Background

Born in Santa Fe and raised in Northern New Mexico, Kati grew up on the Rancho Encantado property which her family developed and operated for decades.  In this environment she encountered people from all walks of life, from diverse and faraway places.  While learning the values of hard work and the importance of treating all people with dignity, she developed a deep connection with this enchanted land.  Kati studied Ancient Greek and Roman Civilization at University of California at Santa Barbara, coupled with an outstanding career in the theater.  Kati parlayed these experiences into a successful career as a bartender for Four Seasons Resorts.  While traveling to many states with that company, she grew an even deeper appreciation for the exquisite variety in humanity.

Kati’s enjoyment of connection coupled with a thirst for wellness inspired her evolution to Occupational Therapist. She received her Masters of Science in OT from East Carolina University, then completed her internship training at UNC Chapel Hill in pediatrics, and within the world-renowned Jaycee Burn Unit.  She worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she encountered all manner of highly acute conditions while learning the necessity of restoring daily function capability to recover from even extreme medical circumstances. Most recently she spent 5 years at Duke the University Health System in the Home Health Department.  There she became the most requested OT at the renowned Duke ALS Clinic, for her accomplished work helping patients with degenerative neurological conditions.
