Maggie Anderson, Licensed Massage Therapist
Maggie excels in the art of nurturing therapeutic massage, with the versatility of several massage techniques and styles. From relaxation massage, to targeted deep tissue work, she tailors each massage session to the individual needs of her clients. She uses a slow methodical approach to increasing pressure levels and depths to promote healing and prevent injury. She believes in treating the body as a whole, while listening to her client’s needs and focusing on trouble areas. As a very active person, she understands the mechanics of the body, which comes through in her bodywork. She is a deep listener and is attentive to both verbal and non-verbal cues from her clients.
"Not all listening can be heard. Sometimes it's felt."

Using medical massage to support and fine-tune, Maggie seeks to help her clients' bodies to find their greatest ease and strength. Employing anatomically informed bodywork techniques, she works with each unique client to create a safe space for the body to comfortably unwind. Her essential focus is for each individual she works with to feel as balanced and fluid as possible.
In addition to massage, Maggie offers both cupping and hot stone therapy. Cupping has a profound effect on the fascia and increases circulation for maximum muscle and tissue healing. Cupping can be a useful alternative when deep pressure is not an option for a client. It's also highly effective for areas of the body that have scar tissue and underlying adhesions in the tissue. Please ask Maggie in advance if you are interested in incorporating hot stone therapy into your massage.

Personal Background
Maggie was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she grew up a sports enthusiast. She was involved in soccer, horseback riding, basketball, volleyball, track and field, skiing, and now snowboarding. She began playing disc golf in her early twenties, and played regularly in the local league. She moved to Denver in 2005 and became involved in competitive disc golf, and also joined the Denver Roller Dolls roller derby league. It was then she discovered her passion for the healing arts. Practices for roller derby were intense and she often had minor injuries following. She discovered acupuncture and massage as a means to stay active in her lifestyle. "Knowing how much regular bodywork helped me in my daily life, led me to realize that's what I wanted to do for others".
She moved back to Santa Fe in 2007 and began her studies in the healing arts. Further in-depth studies of MyoFascial Release techniques, Specific Injury rehabilitation and Trigger Point therapy have enhanced her ability to assist clients in resolving both acute and chronic musculoskeletal issues. She stays abreast of medical research in the field of bodywork and injury rehabilitation, always incorporating the most up-to-date knowledge into her treatment plans.
